Recording
fees and Standard Conveyancer: Recording fees are data
stored in your copy of Standard Conveyancer on an individual
county basis. If you wish to use the automatic recording
fees calculator on the HUD-1 Page 2 screen, you need
to update each county with the new rates. For state-wide
flat fees, however, you may prefer to enter the fees in
your Standard Model File (and any other model files
your office uses). Any changes you make will take effect
for your entire office.
[If
you do not know what the Standard Model File is,
this is a good indication you would benefit greatly from
training on using Standard Conveyancer.
Model files are a powerful way to streamline your work
and avoid repetitive typing from closing to closing. You
can learn more about model
files and other topics in our Guides
for New Users on our Client
Resources page.]
To
update your Counties database: Click the Info
menu, then Counties. Click List to choose
a county to update. Enter the new recording fees for the
Deed, Mortgage and Discharge. Click
back into the List to continue to other counties
you need to update, and save all changes.
To
enter default recording fees in your Standard Model File:
Click the Quick menu, then Standard Model File
(DOS users, type "Standard Model File" in the
File ID field). Advance to the HUD-1 Page 2
screen and enter default recording fees for the Deed, Mortgage,
and Releases. If you use other model files (usually lender
model files) you should make the same changes in those
files.

always, please call 781-324-0550 if you need any
